The David Suzuki Elders Council will hold the first gathering of the Association of Suzuki Elders on February 12, 2011 at the Creekside Community Centre in the Olympic Village from 1 to 5 PM.

This gathering will provide information about the Association's purpose and provide interested participants with an opportunity to join and work.

Keynote Speaker Jim Hoggan, Board Chair of the David Suzuki foundation and author of Climate Cover Up: The Crusade to Deny Global Warming, and Do the Right Thing: PR Tips for a Skeptical Public, will provoke and encourage attendees to discuss and get involved.

Suzuki Elders Purpose Statement: The Suzuki Elders are a voluntary association of self-identified elders working with and through the David Suzuki foundation. We bring our voices, experiences and memories to mentor, motivate and support other elders and younger generations in dialogue and action on environmental issues. Suzuki Elders listen, learn, share and act through educating, communicating, connecting, and advocacy.

Bring your wisdom and experience to critical environmental issues and join the efforts to bridge the generations with your time, talent and vision. Suzuki elders support the goals of the Suzuki Foundation and work to bring a sustainable society to future generations.
